Milldam Cemetery - Milldam Cemetery is located North Santee, South Carolina. Milldam was originally part of the large holdings of Thomas Horry, member of the South Carolina House of Representatives during the American Revolution, delegate to the conventions to ratify the United State and South Carolina Senate after the Revolution. At Horry's death in 1820, Milldam, along with the Blugg, Campmain, Jutland, Camp Island, Wattahan, Midland, Millbrook, and Newland, all on the Santee River, went to Horry's son Elias Horry IV. The younger Horry, who was an absentee planter living in Charleston, served as President of the South Carolina Railrouad. Milldam and Jutland, at his deaht in 1834, went to his son, William B.S.Horry. In 1860, Milldam and Jutland produced 1,035,000 poulnd of rice. All the Horry plantations remained in the family until after the Civil War.

After S.M. Ware and Company bought the tract from Manigault in 1891, the company acquired all or portions of thirteen plantations and renamed their holdings to Kinloch, after Kinloch Creek.

In 1912, the company sold Kinloch to the Kinloch Gun Club, of Wilmington, Delaware. The original main house of Milldam burned in 1879 and the present house dates from the ownership of the gun club, which initiated the use of the combined plantations as a hunting club and wildlife preserve.1

1 He participated in military service and his rank was Major.1

Isaac Allerton married Fear Brewster, daughter of Elder William Brewster and Mary Brewster.1

Isaac Allerton died in 1659.
Isaac Allerton, born in 1586, was a merchant and a tailor. He embarked on Mayflower with his first wife Mary Norris, their 3 living children, and his apprentice, John Hooke. His sister Sarah was also a passenger, married to Degory Priest.

Isaac was chosen as assistant to Governor Bradford in 1621. Members of the colony became dissatisfied with how he managed the finances of the colony, increasing debt and mixing his own business with the colony's finances. He was eventually banished from the colony for his unscrupulous dealings, going on to live in Marblehead, New Amsterdam, and New Haven.

Around 1626 he married his second wife, Fear, who was the daughter of passenger William Brewster. They had two children. He later married a third wife, Joanna Swinnerton, in New Haven, where he died in 1659.
