Mary (?) was born.

Mary (?) married Donald Taylor Davis Sr, son of William Featherston Davis Sr and Alice Lalime, after 1962. Her married name was Mary Davis.

Her husband, Donald Taylor Davis Sr, died on 8 June 2011 at Pascagoula, Jackson County, Mississippi, at age 79. He suffered a severe stroke early on Sunday, June 5th, and never regained consiousness.

Donald Taylor Davis Sr's obituary appeared in the newspaper in Mississippi Press, Mississippi, on 9 June 2011. It listed Mary Davis as surviving him.1

Maude G (?) was born in 1878 at Virginia or 1882. I am not sure of her birth year. It would be either 1878, based on the 1920 census, or 1882, based on the 1910 census.

Maude G (?) married Temple Carter Eppes, son of John Temple Eppes and Mary C. Garthright, in 1898. [This date is an estimate based on the age of the oldest child.] As of 1898, her married name was Maude G. Eppes.

Maude G. Eppes appeared in the 1910 census as the wife of Temple Carter Eppes on 16 April 1910 in Newport News, Virginia. She was listed as Maud Eppes, age 28, married 11 years, mother of 4 children, 3 children still living, born in Virginia.2

Maude G. Eppes appeared in the 1920 census as the wife of Temple Carter Eppes on 10 January 1920 in 338 Forty-Fifth Street, Newport News, Virginia. She was listed as Maude Eppes,age 42, married, born in Virginia.3

Brand Hardenbergh's obituary appeared in the newspaper in Richmond Times-Dispatch, Richmond, Virginia, on 29 February 2012. Merle L Eppes died in August 1987 at Chesapeake, Chesapeake County, Virginia, at age 65. Merle was survived by her husband, Carlton Mitchell Eppes Sr. Merle was survived by her children Carlton Mitchell Eppes Jr and Oliver C Osborne.1

Ona M Pfluke Chappell died on 14 December 1990 at age 77. Ona was survived by her husband, Amos Thornton Chappell.1 She was buried after 14 December 1990 in Arlington National Cemetery in Section 35, Grave 2162, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia.2

Susan H Chappell of Sussex County, Virginia, transferred a deed of property recorded 3 December 1846 to John Thomas A. Chappell, Rebecca A. Chappell and Richard J Tucker. There was a valuation of the slaves for a total of $2650, allotting to Susan H Chappell, $883.33 one-third, her third of the negroes. Although deceased, John W. Chappell was mentioned as the husband of Susan H Chappell. She was the administrator of his estate.6 The deed read as follows:
Suit brought in Sussex County Chancery Court, Nov. Term 1839 between the plantiff Susan H. Chappell widow of John W Chappell in her own right and as administratrix of the said John W. Chappell decd, plantiff against Rebecca A (or S) P. Mary E. and John T. A. Chappell infant children of John W. Chappell deceased by A. G. Mitchell their Guardian at litem appointed by the Court to defend them in this behalf defendants.

The Court appointed Abraham G. Mitchell Guardian ad litem specially to defend the infant defendants. William C. Pace, Joseph, Jarrad, Edwin G Scott, William B. Jarrad, and Micajah Ellis were appointed Commissioners, any three of whom may act, on some convenient day to be appointed by the parties, meet at the late residence of John W. Chappell deceased accompanied by the County Surveyor and value and divide the lands of which said decedent died owning so that they allot one-third part to Susan H. Chappell widow, in right of her dower, and the same with the slaves.

The slaves were valued at $2650, Susan was allotted $883.33 1/3 by Joseph Jarrad, William Pace and W B Jarrad.

Susan H. (?) appeared in the 1850 census as the head of household, free population schedule at Sussex County, Virginia, on 1 June 1850. Also living in the house was John Thomas A. Chappell. She was listed as Susan H. Chappell, age 30, real estate valued at $400, born in Virginia.8

Abraham Green Mitchell and Emaline S. A. Jarrett Mitchell of Sussex County, Virginia, transferred a deed of property recorded 4 March 1852 to Susan H. (?) Dinwiddie County, Virginia containing 402.5 acres of land in Sussex County, Virginia, for $7,898. It was recorded 4 Mar 1852.9 The deed read as follows:

Chappell. John E. Stewart and Richard J Tucker was listed as a neighbor. She was listed as Susan H Chappelle, age 42, farmer. Her real estate was worth $500; her personal property, $4,000.1

Susan H. (?) was listed as the head of household on the 1870 census on 4 August 1870 at Dinwiddie County, Virginia. Also living in the house was Mary E. Chappell and John Thomas A. Chappell. She was listed as Susan Chappell, age 52, born in Virginia, keeping house. Her real estate was worth $1,000.2 Susan H. (?) and Rebecca A. Chappell, Mary E. Chappell and John Thomas A. Chappell of Sussex County, Virginia, transferred a deed of property dated 1 October 1870 to John T Newbury, containing 648 acres of land in Sussex County, Virginia, for $1296. Although deceased, John W. Chappell was mentioned. It was dated on 2 Aug 1869 and recorded on 1 Oct 1870.10 The deed read as follows:

Virginia J (?) married Lloyd Edward Cashion, son of George Stewart Cashion and Lonie Lowthorpe. Her married name was Cashion.

Her husband, Lloyd Edward Cashion, died on 13 November 1992 at Newport News, Virginia, at age 85 in a hospital as the result of an automobile accident.1,2

Lloyd Edward Cashion's obituary appeared in the newspaper in Newport News, Virginia, on 15 November 1992. It listed Virginia J (?) and Herschell Austin Cashion Sr as surviving him. She was listed as his wife, Virginia J. Cashion.3

Lloyd E. Cashion, 85, of Newport News, died Nov. 13, 1992, in a hospital as the result of an automobile accident.

Mr. Cashion was born in Iredell County, N.C. He retired as captain of the Newport News Fire Department after 33 years. He had been retired for 22 years. He was a member of Deer Park Baptist Church, Stevens Bible Class, Warwick Masonic Lodge 336 AF & AM and the Peninsula Retired Men's Club.Survivors include his wife, Virginia J. Cashion; two daughters, Mary C. Silk of Newport News and Molly C. Suleske of Stafford, Va; a brother, Herschell A. Cashion of Newport News; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Deer Park Baptist Church by the Rev. Gary Burden and the Rev. Clarence Hilling. Burial will be in Peninsula Memorial Park with Fire Department honors. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Peninsula Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Youth Challenge, 331-35th St., Newport News, Va. 23607.

Caroline M. Ackerman married Charles Old, son of Watkins Leigh Old and Candace Priscilla Weiss, in 1904.1

Caroline M. Ackerman appeared in the 1910 census as the wife of Charles Old on 21 April 1910 in Youngstown, Mahoning County, Ohio. She was listed as Caroline M. Old, age 29, married, born in Ohio. She had been married 6 years. She had had one child, still living. Her father was German, and her mother was born in Ohio.1

Caroline M. Ackerman appeared in the 1920 census as the wife of Charles Old on 6 January 1920 in Mansfield, Richland County, Ohio. She was listed as Caroline Old, age 38, born in Ohio.2

Edward C. Adkins was born in 1838. He was the son of Spencer R Adkins and Elizabeth J Garthright.

Elizabeth J Garthright, Edward C. Adkins, Julia F. Adkins, Nancy Adkins and Elizabeth T. Adkins appeared in the 1850 census on 9 August 1850 as a household member living with Spencer R Adkins. The official date for this census was 01 June 1850. He was listed as Edward C Adkins, age 12, born in Virginia.1

Edward C. Adkins died after 4 June 1884. This date is estimated as before 04 Jun 1884 because he is not mentioned in the settling of his grandfather's estate (Edward Finch Garthright Sr) as are three of his sisters.

Edward Finch Garthright Sr left a will 15 May 1885 on 15 May 1885. Mentioned in the county documents were William Dandridge Garthright, Hester Ann Garthright, Nancy Carter Garthright, Mary C. Ernest Allen was born in July 1878 at Virginia.2 He was the son of Spotswood Joseph Allen and Ella B. Apperson.1

Ernest Allen appeared in the 1900 census as a nephew of Lizzy Apperson in 317 North 11th Street, Richmond, Virginia, on 11 June 1900. He was listed as Ernest Allen, age 11, born July 1878 in Virginia, attending school.3

Ernest Allen appeared in the 1910 census as a son of Spotswood Joseph Allen on 19 April 1910 in 6 South 5th Street, Richmond, Virginia. He was listed as Earnest B Allen, age 21, single, born in Virginia. His occupation was bookkeeper in a box factory.4

Ernest Allen died.
