He was listed as Richard T. Bailey, age 16, born in Virginia; Sarah W. Bailey, age 44, born in Virginia. Her occupation was farmer. Her real estate was valued at $2,500.1

Richard Thomas Bailey appeared in the 1860 census as the head of household, free population schedule on 22 August 1860 Sussex County, Virginia. Also living in the house was Sarah Williamson Tucker, Sarah Williamson Bailey and Adeline Green Bailey. He was listed as Richard T.Bailey, age 26, born in Virginia. His occupation was farmer. His personal property was valued at $1,500.2

Richard Thomas Bailey and Williamson S. Clanton appeared in the 1870 census as a son of Sarah Williamson Tucker Bailey Henry, Sussex County, Virginia, 5 September 1870. Rosa was survived by her children Henry Caroline Briggs, George Briggs, Mary Belvidere Briggs, Leah Pace Briggs, Anna Atkinson Briggs and Samuel Wilkins Briggs.9 Rosa Pace Shelton Briggs was buried after 19 June 1933 in Blandford Cemetery in Section KK, located at 319 S Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia.9

His Social Security Number was 719-05-2945 issued before 1951 through the Railroad Board.2
