Mary Belvidere Briggs, Leah Pace Briggs and Anna Atkinson Briggs appeared in the 1900 census as a daughter of Samuel Briggs in Newville, Sussex County, Virginia, on 22 June 1900. She was listed as Mary B. Briggs, age 12, born Feb 1887 in Virginia, attending school.1

Mary Belvidere Briggs, Leah Pace Briggs and Anna Atkinson Briggs appeared in the 1910 census as a daughter of Samuel Briggs on 13 May 1910 in Newville, Sussex County, Virginia. She was listed as Mary B. Briggs, age 23, single, born in Virginia. Her occupation was school teacher.2

Mary Belvidere Briggs married Nathaniel Proctor Peebles Sr, son of Thomas N Peebles and Alice P (?), on 8 January 1913. Her married name was Mary Belvidere Briggs Peebles.

Mary Belvidere Briggs Peebles appeared in the 1930 census as the wife of Nathaniel Proctor Peebles Sr Stony Creek, Sussex County, Virginia, on 20 April 1930. She was listed as Mary B. Peebles, age 43, born in Virginia. She was 25 when she first married.3

Her mother, Rosa Pace Shelton Briggs, died on 19 June 1933 at Virginia at age 74.4

When she was 47, her husband, Nathaniel Proctor Peebles Sr, died on 23 January 1935 at Virginia at age 60.5

Mary Belvidere Briggs Peebles appeared in the 1940 census as the head of household on 22 April 1940 at Calvin Point Road, Stony Creek, Sussex County, Virginia. Also living in the house was, her son, Nathaniel Proctor Peebles Jr and Thomas Briggs Peebles, her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Peebles. She was listed as Mary Briggs Peebles, age 53, widowed, born in Virginia, farmer.6

On 22 April 1940, Mary Belvidere Briggs Peebles appeared in the 1940 census as a neighbor of William Dunn Peebles at Stony Creek, Sussex County, Virginia. She was listed as Mary Briggs Peebles. She was immediately next door.7

Mary Belvidere Briggs Peebles died on 8 December 1962 at Virginia at age 75.8 She was buried after 8 December 1962 in Blandford Cemetery in Ward R, Section 3, Square 5a, located at 319 S Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia.8

She was listed in the obituary of Thomas Briggs Peebles on 11 April 2004 as preceding him in death at Petersburg, Virginia. She was listed as his mother, Mary Belvidere Briggs Peebles.9

Polly Briggs was born on 16 July 1775. She was the daughter of Timothy Briggs and Abigail Patten.

Polly Briggs married Daniel Goodwin, son of Benjamin Goodwin and Hannah LeBaron, on 1 November 1795. She was 20 at the time. Her married name was Polly Briggs Goodwin.

When she was 54, her husband, Daniel Goodwin, died on 13 July 1830 at Newton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at age 62.

Polly Briggs Goodwin died on 31 May 1861 at Norton, Bristol County, Massachusetts, at age 85. Polly was survived by her children, Frederick Deane Goodwin.

The official date for this census was 01 June 1860. He was listed as Samuel Briggs, age 1, born in Virginia.3

He was listed as Samuel Briggs, age 41, born Aug 1858 in Virginia. His occupation was grocery salesman.1

Samuel Briggs appeared in the 1910 census as the head of household on 13 May 1910 at Newville, Sussex County, Virginia. Also living in the house was his wife, Rosa Pace Shelton, his son, Samuel Wilkins Briggs, his daughter, Mary Belvidere Briggs, Leah Pace Briggs and Anna Atkinson Briggs. James Shelton Briggs was listed as a neighbor. He was listed as Samuel Briggs, age 57, married once, born in Virginia. He was 29 when he first married. His occupation was farmer.6

Samuel Briggs appeared in the 1910 census as a neighbor of James Shelton Briggs on 13 May 1910 in Newville, Sussex County, Virginia.7

Samuel Briggs appeared in the 1920 census as the head of household on 21 January 1920 at Newville, Sussex County, Virginia. Also living in the house was his wife, Rosa Pace Shelton. He was listed as Samuel Briggs, age 61, married, born in Virginia. His occuapation was farmer, general farming.2

Samuel Briggs died before 1930 at Virginia as his wife was marked as widowed on the 1930 census. Samuel was survived by his wife, Rosa Pace Shelton.

His wife, Rosa Pace Shelton Briggs, was buried after 19 June 1933 in Blandford Cemetery in Section KK at 319 S Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia.8

Henry Edward Caprio was listed as a lodger of Powhatan Perkins Crawford on the 1930 census 3103 Stuart Avenue, Richmond, Virginia, 10 April 1930. He was listed as Henry E Caprio, age 34, born in Virginia, working as a musician in a Hotel Orchestra.4

Henry Edward Caprio married Inga Delores Crawford, daughter of Henry G Frericks and Amy Marie Eppes Crawford, in December 1930 at Richmond, Virginia. He was 35 at the time. His parents were listed as Anthony Caprio and Marie Collett. Her parents were listed as Powhatan Perkins Crawford and Amy Marie Eppes Crawford.2,1 At the time of their marriage in 1930, Henry Edward Caprio and Inga Delores Frericks were residing at 3103 Stuart Avenue in Richmond, Virginia.2
